Who Cares About a Blog Anyway?

This is my first blog post... How exciting! I was doing some "research"(I say that in quotes because I legit did 1 singular google search), and came across that there are over 600 million blogs that exist on the internet. That's just part of the 1.9 BILLION websites that exist worldwide. Imagine the amount of content thats out there.

It just makes me think about how BIG the world is. We as individuals are not able to comprehend the complexity of the world, as much as I try I just cannot. I often will look at an object, for example, a pair of headphones. I look at the little pieces that come together to make up the unit as a whole. There is someone that has to manufacture all of those specific pieces, but how did they get into that business? How did they know there was going to be a need for that? Industrialization really just blows my mind.

With the world being so big, there are still things that occur that make it feel so small again. Summer 2019, I decided to study abroad in Singapore. It was incredible, but also scary because I went into the program not really knowing anyone, and really working on getting comfortable being uncomfortable, and worked on feeling independent. In Singapore, some of the public train stations are straight up shopping malls. One day walking through the mall looking for a specific store, I saw someone I went to high school with. Half across the world running into people I know. That is absolutely wild right?!

I think just especially with the whole pandemic, I have been feeling a bit trapped. I love seeing the world and having new experiences but, I haven't left the country since early 2020. I have been itching to see the world again, there is so much to explore!

The thought of the world can be overwhelming and almost confusing as to how things work. It is okay if you don't know how every single thing in the world operates but it is always fun to be curious. The best you can do is put out in the world what you want to get back aka don't be an asshole!
